In a remote village in Angola, a group of farmer women pose for a farewell picture. They look sad but the serious faces are only due to the solemnity of the moment. The photographer doesn't speak their language. She asks the translator for the magic words to make them smile before pressing the camera shutter release. « Pwanga ni Puy ? » Light or obscurity ? And the women faces lit up with a broad smile : « Pwanga ! »

Lúcia Carvalho est née en Angola mais grandit et mûrit en France. Son sens du rythme et sa langue maternelle, le portugais, ont vite fait de l’orienter vers le choix de sa base musicale : les rythmes brésiliens.
